SUMMARY AND FORECAST
Present indications are for south-easterly winds generally, etronj and squally northward of Farewell Spif and Kailioura, and moderate elsewhere. Espoct fair weather on the West Coaet of the South Island, and a temporary improvement in the southern districts shortly, but cold and changeable conditions generally elsewhere, with rain in the northern and East Goast districts. Tho barometer has a falling tendency in tho northernmost districts, but will probably rise further for a Ehort time jn the south. The barometer has fallen in the northernmost districts to-day, but has lieen ekewhere, and strong southerly winds now predominate. Cold and changeable weather has ruled, and rain has been reported in various districts in both islands. D. C. BATES, Meteorological Office, Wellington. April 22, 1915.
