After landing cargo and passengeTe hero the vessel will leave for Sydney direct at 5 p.m. to-morrow. WIMMERA DUE FRIDAT. The local office of tho Huddart-Parker Company has been advised that tho Wimmera left Hobart for Wellington direct at 10 p.m. on Monday last. She is due here on Saturday morning, and will land 61 passengers and 510 tons of cargo at this port before proceeding on to southern ports, Hobart, and Melbourne, on Saturday at 5 p.m.

KAITOA REPLACES NIKAU. As the Anchor Line' 6 steamer Nikan will have to undergo annual overhaul at Nelson next week, the same company's Kaitoa will rolicve her in the Wellington-Nelson-Motueka service. The Kaitoa will not arrive here for Nelson on Sunday as usual, but will come across on Tuesday morning She will sail from Wellington on Tuesday. Thursday, and Saturday of next week. 6HAW-SAVILL STEAMERS' MOVEMENTS. According to advice received by the head office of the Shaw. Savill. and Albion Company, R.M.S. Tainui, which is en route from Wellington to London, cleared Bio de Janeiro on April 19. The same company's Matatua. which left Wellington tor London on March 28, con-, tinned her .iourney from Monte Video to London .on April 17. Having arrived at Timaru yesterday, tho Pakcha.will continue Homeward loading at that port and proceed on to Lyttelton for the same purpose to-morrow.

A departure from Auckland for Napier yesterday morning was the Zealandic. The vessel is from Loudon, and will discharge cargo at Wellington about Saturday next.

CAPE FINISTERRE BEINGS OIL. The Vacuum Oil Company's chartered steamer Cape Finisterre, which left New York on April 1, laden with case oil for New Zealand ports, via Panama, has continued her journey for New Rochelle. The vessel is expected to arrive at Auckland about May 11.

EL COBDOBES ARRIVES HOME. According to a cable message received in Wellington, the F. and 8. Line's chartered steamer El Cordobes. which -left this port for Avonmouth on February 15, via Monte Video, has arrived at her destination. TO LOAD AT ST. JOHN. Advice has been received by the local office of the Now Zealand Shipping Company stating that their steamer Whakatane left London for St. Jolin on April 17. She will take the loading berth at the Canadian port for Australian and New Zealand ports.

COOK STRAIT SERVICE ALTERATIONS. Changes are announced in the Union Company's Wellington-PJcton and Kelson serviced. On and aJter May 3 the Pateena will revert to her old - running—i.e., lcav. me Wellington for Picton and Nelson at 12.35 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesday©, and Fridays, and returning from Nelson, via Picton, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. After Thursday, April 29, the Arahura's usual trip from Wellington to Picton ou Thursdays will be abandoned. On arrival at Wellington from Woetport on May 2 the Mapourika will be with* drawn from- tho service she is at present engaged in, and mil lay up here indefinitely. Arra-igeincnts have been made for the Corinna to leave Wellington for New "Plymouth every Wednesday. She will take general cargo for the port mentioned. MESS TABLE GOSSIP. Mr. E. Williamson ha 6 been engaged as third officer of tho Corinna. Captxiin Sutcliffe is in charge of the "Union Company's chartered steamer Hexham, and hie officers are as follow:— Messrs. Having finished her work in liourak Gulf the Government 6teamer Hinemoa arrived back at Auckland yesterday afternoon. She will take in stores and continue hor journey to northern lighthouses to-day. Due in port from Lytteiton'this morning, tho Huddart-PaTker steamer UlimaToa will be dispatched for Sydney direct at 5 p.m. On April &3 tho Union cargo carrier Wautomata is due at- Auckland from Ban. Francisco. She is expected to reach Wei* lington about April 27. The Norwegian etamer Odland, which left Newcastle for Auckland on Saturday last, 16 duo at tho northorn port about tomorrow.

Waitara, cargo will be loaded at Wellington by tho coastal steamer Tainui. There was too much sea on the Greymouth. bar to allow the Kamo to leave that port for Wellington yesterday. _The coastal steamer Woottou, which left Wellington for Pigeon Bay yesterday, will bring another load of sheep to this port on Saturday. After a passage of 50 days the 0. and D. liner Mimiro arrived at London, from Wellington on Friday last. An arrival at Auckland, from San Francisco at 9.45 a.m. yesterday was the Union steamer Her next port of call will be Melbourne. Southern, cargo will be transhipped at Auckland.
