Abraham and Williams, Ltd., Pahiatua, report as follows on their Pahiatua etock gale held on Tuesday Inst:— Wc'had a very heavy yarding of sheep, and a medium one of cattle, which we submitted to the usual large attendance. We have to report a pood sale, practically everything being disposed of at rates on a par with other centres. We offered a particularly good line of 230 4 and 6• tooth heavy-skinned wethers on account of Mr. John Clulow, Pori, wluc.h realised 225. 7d. and 255. Id. Quotations: 2-tooth wethcre (be6t), 19s. lCd.; others, lis. 6d. to 15s. 10d.; 4 and 6-tooth. wethers. 225. 7d. to'23s. Id.; mixed 2-toothe, lis.; wether lamb 6 (best), 15s. Bd.; prime owes, 246.; good, owes, 225. 6d. to 235.; fair ewes, 20s. to 20s. 6d.; prime lambs, 175.; light shorn lambs, 10s. 6d. to 12s. 6d.
Tho New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company. Ltd., Palmerston North, report:—At Himitengi on Monday we had a fair yarding, of cattle. ALDINGTON MARKET. (By Telegraph.—l'ress Association.) Christchurch, April 21. At the Addington live stock market : there was a considerable falling off in the 1 entry of fat lambs and. an increase in fat sheep; other entries were about up to the average. There was a 'good attendance. Store sheep sold at last week's rates, the passings being numerous. Fat lambs were ■very dull of sale. Fat cattle showed a decline of ss. per 1001b., and. fat sheep are down 3s. and 4s. per had. Store sheep: Inferior merino lambs, 3s. 3d. to 45.; good two-tooth ewes, 16s. 3d. to 175.; good 6-tooth ewes, to 15s. 4d.; fair two, four, and six-tooth ewes, 10s. 4d. to 12a. Bd.; two to four and six-tooth ewes, to 6s. 2d.; fair sound-mouth, ewes, 65.; inferior ewes, 3s. 6d. to 55.; good forward four and. six-tooth, wethers, 15s. 3d. to 18s.; fairly good wethers, lis, 6d. to 13s. 6d.; inferior ewes, 3s. 6d. to 45.; fairly good lambs, 6s. to 9s. M Burnside 206 fat cattle were yarded. The entry was in excess of raiuiTemcnts, and competition -was not keen, the close of tho Eele bidding be-.ame a littlo brisker. The yarding generally was of medium quality, and a good number of pens were passed unsold. Prices showed a. §££ of 10S to 15s. per head, as cpmpwed with last week. Best bullocks, £13 to £14, extra, prime, to £15 7s. 6c1.; medium to rood £9 to £11 10s.; best cows and heifers, £8 to £9; extra prime, to £10; medium, rtfee^l'244o were penned. The yarding for. the most part consisted of medium and inferior quality ewes, very few pens of really prime sheep conung forward A large number held over from last week were included in to-days entry. Really prime sheep sold at about last week 6 rates, but for medium and inferior nuality nrices showed a decline of about 2s. per head, and in some cases even more. A f?aod many nens of this class failed, to elicit bids, as the yaiding _was in excoK of butchers' requirements. Prime wethcrs, 9?<t to 246.; medium to good, 19s. 6d. to 2fe; otos.' «s. to 17s. 6d.; best ewes, lis to 16s 6d.; extra heavy, 225. to 265. A small pen of exceptionally heavy ewes reailisea 315.; others -7s. to 10s. < Lambs: 500 were penned. This was a Bmall entry, and prices were much on a. par with last weeks reduccdrates. Best lambs, 16s. to 18s.; extra to 19s. 6d., medium and unfinished, 10s._ to 14s. Fat Pigs: There was a mediuin-eizcd yarding of fat pigs, -which were easier in price than last week. Very few stores oame forward, and this accounted for a slight.lmprovement in the demand.
