ASSOCIATION

MATCHES COMMENCE MAT 1.

Mr. A. IS. .AYells presided at the weekly meeting of the Management Committee of the Wellington Football Association last ovciiiiig. Tito following woro also present:—Messrs. T. Thompson, H. Yeomaiij A. Varney, J. M'Ar.dle, A. Boltoiij W. Duncan, and A. .Williams, secretary. It was decided to draw the fixtures of tennis ongaged in tho first, second, third, and fourth divisions for the first round. It was also agreed that fifth and sixth division teams be allotted town grounds whenever possible. Several clubs who had applied for grounds wore granted permission to play matches thereon. The draw resulted as followsY.M.C.A. and Brooklyn, Association Park, after 3 p.m.; Y.M.C.A. (boys), No. 5 Miramar, and Island Bay No. 6,' Mimmar; Institute, Association Park, from 2 p.m. till 3 p.m.; Swifts, No. 4 Miramar; Thistle, No. 3 Miramar.

A letter was received from the City Council stating that the use of the western portion of the! Basin Reserve could not- be granted.

The Hawke's Bay Association wrote asking for a visit of a representative team from .Wellington this season. The matter was deferred for the present. It was resolved that in future the meeting of the Management Committee bo held on Tuesday evenings in each week.

Entries for all competitions will close with the secretary on April 28, and competitions will commenco on Saturday, May 1.

Arrangements are in hand for a match to be played against Canterbury at Wellington on June 3.. It was stated that the proceeds of. the first championship-match played under tho jurisdiction of the association this season be given to the New Zealand Patriotic Societies' funds.

The annual meeting of, the Wellington Referees' Association will bo held on Friday evening next.
