AMERICA'S NEUTRALITY
DEFINED BY PRESIDENT WILSON New York, April 20. President Wilson, explaining the reasons for American neutrality, said that the United States was not merely trying to keep out of trouble, but was acting with the object of being free when, the time camo to play a leading part in the peace settlement. Americans had not sought a singlo inch of -territory anywhere, and were therefore unhampered and able to serve other nations to tho greatest extent. Tile great body of real Americans was waiting to discover whether Americans would support America in its performance, despite any noisy elements who might seek to drive her into the conllict.
