BRITISH, ECONOMICAL, iIODBKATEPKICED SPLENUIDLY-HNISHED— THE NEW HIiMBHR, IMPROVED MODEL. 4s most people are now aware, there is at present a difficulty in obtaining shipments of motor-cars from Britain, owing to the big contracts placed with tho automobile firms by the British and Allies' War Offices. We have been exceptionally fortunate in assuring the delivery, during the next two or three months, of a number of the latest model 10.23 h.p. Humber touring cars. Two of these cars, the advance-guard of further and much larger shipments, have just been delivered at our Christchurch garage ex 6.5. lonic. One of. these has been sold, and the other is still on view. It is a beautifully finished four-seater oar, the body colour being a rich warm brown, and the fittings plated. . A neater or more refined-looking car has never been imported to this country. Although light—tho weight ready for the road is but IScwt.—the car is ot standard wheel gauge, and 'the seats are of ainplo width. The car is remarkably economical in running. Mr. S. K. Stedinan, our Punedin agent, who has told about fiftv Hmnbcrs, and who has driven tho first'of the 10-23 h.p. fonr-spator Humbers landed here over 15,000 miles, reports to us that the car has averaged !S1 miles to the gallon of petrol, and ?10D miles to tho gallon of lubricating oil. The cost of running per mile, inoluding petrol, lubricating oil and depreciation of tyres, has been estimated at under ljd. Although so economical the car is a grand hill-climber, and capable of a speed of up to 50 miles an hour on 'the fiat. Tho price ot this car, completely equipped ana ready for the road, with five Sankey detachable wheels, shod with Michelin "tyres, C.A.V. electric lighting set with acetylene headlights, hood, wind-sorcon, Smith clock, and Jones speedometer, tools, ote., is .£125. With complete C.A.V. olectrlo lighting set (head, side, and tail lamps!, the price is .£433, ajid with complete O.A.V. electric lighting set and selfsi arler, the prico is £445.
