A FAMILY DISPUTE. In the Supreme Court yesterday the Registrar (Mr. W. A. Hawkins) delivered the judgment of His Honour Mr. Justice Stringer in the case of Wm. and Richard Bevau v. Geo. Robt. Bevan and others, a suit to have an agreement made on March 28, 1913, in settlement of family disputes set aside. Two estates were concerned, and the ownership of certain land in theManakau district was involved. A counter-, claim, was made by defendants for money alleged to be due by. -plaintiffs. His Honour held that the agreement was valid and effective, and that the counter-claiming defendants (including the Public Trustee as administrator of the estate of Edward Bevan) were entitled to have it specifically performed by the plaintiffs, in accordance with the tenor thereof, and to the quential relief as asked for ip the amended'prayer to the counter-claim. Plaintiffs were ordered to pay the coun-ter-claiming defendants' costs on the middle scale, as on, a claim for £1000, with witnesses' expenses and ments. also to pay to the counter- 1 claiming defendants the costs of the preparing and filing the counter-claim, hut no other costs 'in comicction with the counter-claim. Mr- T. M. Wilford appeared at tho hearing for the plaintiff. Mr. H. D. Bell, K.C., and Mr. W. Perrv for the defendants, and Mr. J. W. Macdonald for the Publio Trustee.
