Sir,— 1 -Many suggestions have Seen made'through the Press as to what form the inevitable tvar tax _ shall take. I have one which I consider at least as equitable as any forthcoming up to the A large number of our people's incomes, principally the farmers, have increased almost entirely as a tabu] t of' the war. Collect from them ten, fifteen, or twenty per cant, on their
previous year, letting tho exemption stand at the present £300. Thic proposal appeals to me personally for tho reason that my own income is smaller than for Last year, and I can therefore claim to be equally as keen for selfuacrifico as the rest, who are asking that their neighbours shall he compelled to pay.—l am, etc.,, INGENIOUS.
