FOOTBALL
CHEMISTS' TOURNAMENT. 'Arrangements in connection with the football tournament held annually under the auspices of the combined Chemists (Wholesale and Retail) of New Zealand are now in train. The tournament this year will be held at a date to be fixed, and on Friday evening last a representative meeting of Wellington Chemistß was held to arrange details. Mr. W. F. Larkin, manager of Sharland and Co., Ltd., was in the chair, and representatives of all branches of the profession were present. Previous tournaments held in other parts of New Zealand have been highly successful, but this year the Wellington Committee hopes to break all records.
Mr. J. H. Newson was elected secretary, and the following gentlemen were appointed a Management Committee:— Messrs. C. Palliser, W. Jack, W. F. Larkin, A. Young, G. Castle, R. D. Hartlon, E. Staples, A. .M'Millan, F. Ryan, and W. Robs. Canterbury and Wellington jointly hold the cup, but as it is probable that an increased number of team* will take part this year, the location of the trophy for next season is very open. In addition to the football matches, a goal-kicking competition will be held, for which Mr. Hemus, of Wellington, has donated 1 , a medal. KARORI FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION. The annual meeting of the Karori Association Football Club waß held last Friday night in Russell's tea-rooms. Mr. F. L. O'Connell occupied the chair. The following officers were elected President, Mr. F. Hatcher; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. W. Hildreth, R. and H. Howard, J. W. Henderson, B. Burn, C. Coate, H. Glover, H. Moss, R. Reid, F. Lissington, R. Randell,;L. M'lntyre, H. Yeoman, and the Rev. W. Woodward; club captain, Mr.. H. Russell; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. P. S. Rabons; temporary committee, Messrs. H. Russell, L. Ellison, and P. S. Rabono; delegate to the Wellington Football Association. Mr. F. L. O'Connlel; and coach, Air. F. L. O'Connell. It was decided to enter a fourth and fifth-class team. Two medals were donated for the fourth-class team, one for the best back, and one for the best forward. Several Sew members were dec ted.
