AUCTION SALE OF CITY PROPERTY. An evomt that is being looked forward to. with eagerness by investors is the auction sale of the properties in the estate of the Hon. W. B. Rhodes and Mrs. S. A. Rhodes. This sale will take place on Thursday, April 29, at 2.30 p.m., in the Chamber of Commerce, Customhouse Quay, Wellington. Messrs. J. H. Bethune att.l Co., Harcouilt and Co., W. H. Turnbull and Co., and Mr. S. George Nathan have been favoured with instructions to conduct tfie sale. It is the determination of the trustees to effect sales of the various lota offered, and in oonseqnence reserves have been fixed at the lowest possible figure. A special advertisement giving full details of the properties to be offered appears in this issue. It will be seen that included in the lots for auction are various main thoroughfare sections suitable - for wholesale . and retail premises. In the triangle formed by Lambton Quay, Featherston and Grev Streets. there, are valuable sections with frontages to each street. As. these sections join one another on the back boundnr.v, they offer special facilities for up-to-date business premises. Other sites on Lambton Quay include the sections between Messrs. George Mee, chemist, and Whittaker Bros.,- with three ■ frontages, the frontage to the Quay having 42ft. ilin. The buildings and land known as '■e Golden Rule Bazaar offer .another good chance. Very fine sections ore also offered in Wakefield Street (opposite Town Hall), in Cuba Street, Cornhill Street, Tory Street, and. Tinakori Road. The grounds, comprising some i acres, are tastefully laid out in garden, lawn, and shrubs, and command an uninterrupted view of the harbour and city. The buyer of this lot will have the option of purchasing one or more of the ten adjoining sections. Residential sites are also offered in Wndestown and Goldie's Brae. Complete catalogues giving detailed plans and all particulars are now being prepared, and will be available in the course of a few days.
