BABY'S BODY FOUND IN THE HARBOUR. - The body of an infant, believed to be newly- born., was found in the harbour near the King's Wharf yesterday afternoon. The body appeared to lave been ill the water some days. It has been taken to tho' morgue, and .the Coroner has bern notified. RUN OVER BY A MOTOR-CYCLE.' ■ A bread carter named Harry Sangster was rather seriously, injured by being knocked down and run over by a motor-cycle yesterday. ■ Sangster was crossing tho street after delivering some loaves to a customer, when lie was knocked down by tho motor-cycle. He was injured about the head , and legs, and was removed to the Hospital. Last: night he was reported from that institution to have .regaiined consciousness, but it was not known whether one of his legs was broken or not. Sangster is a widower, 40 years of age, and jives at 169 Taranaki Street.
. SUFFERING FROM BURNS. While throwing a box which had caught fire out of a building at Pare-" ~ mata yesterday a young man named Alfred Trevor was • burnt about the hands and face. He was taken to the Hospital yesterday afternoon. A BICYCLE ACCIDENT. ' 'A boy, aged 14, named William Adams, was admitted to the Hospital "■ yesterday, suffering from injuries to . his face. The lad was riding a bioycle when a wheel of the machine skidded with the tram line, and he was thrown . to the ground.' , ■ ■ ACCIDENTALLY KILLED. (By Telegraph,—Presn Association.! Walmate, April. 19... A- man fell under the train at Studholme Junction 1 on Saturday night while returning from the Timaru races.. He was 28 years of. age, and was of' temperate habits. At the inquest to-day the verdict was "Accidentally killed." FOUND DROWNED.. Nelson, April 19. The fcody of a man named Victor Spears, who had been missing from his lodgings at Motueka since Saturday, was found in the water near the wharf there' this morning, heavily weighted with stones.i He left a letter indicating- his intention to commit suicide. RAILWAY ACCIDENT. Timaru, April ID. Charles Downey, a single man aged 25, was killed at Studholme on Saturday evening. He stepped off a train before it had stopped, and was dragged under. He was severely crushed about .the head and one leg, and died in half an hour without regaining consciousness. -....■ . ELDERLY WOMAN'S DEA,TH. •' Dunedin, April 19. Mary Stevenson, aged 62, died in the Hospital last night from burns sustained the previous evening l in a house where she dwelt alone. ' DEATH OF A YOUNG FARMER.. j m Stratford, April 19. The body of Trevor Marfell, a wellknown- young farmer, who had been missing sincfe Friday, was found in a creek near Whangamomona yesterday. There were indications that his horse had slipped, and that the man fell forty feet into a creek.CUT BY A CIRCULAR SAW. Wanganui, April 19. A lad named Bowman, aged about seventeen, had liis right arm almost severed below the elbow by a circular saw at the Sash and Door Factory today. MOTOR-CAR FATALITY. Christchurch, April 19.. William Hayward, aged 79, who. was knocked down by a motor at Riccarton on Tuesday, died in the Hospital to-day.
