Peas have weakened a little, best sorts being lower'by 3d. A general rise has taken place in butter, cheese, and eggs. Butter now 6tonds at Is. 4d. for factory, separator at Is. Adelaide, April 16. At the wool sales twelve thousand boles were catalogued. Prices for good super wools were firm; those for inferior classes declining. MONEY MARKET. The Bank .of England discount rate, was on January 2, 1914, reduced from 5 to 45 per cent.,, on January 22, It was Teduced to 4 per cent., and on January 28 and 3 per nent. On July 30 tho rate was rai6ed to 4 per cent., on July 31 it was raised to 8 per cent., and on August 1 it was further advanced to 10 per cent. On August 6 the rate was reduced to 6 per cent., on August 7 it was further reduced to 5 per cent., at which rate it now stands. The Bank of Prance rate is 7 per cent., as against 4 per cent. la6t year. OPEN MARKET BATES. Tho open, market discount rate for three ironths' bills is 3J per cent., as compared with 3J per cent, last week. Short loans are quoted at 12 per cent., as against 13 per cent, last week.
