THE DISTANCING OF MULTIPLY. A' Judicial- Committee of the Racing Conference 6at in Wellington yesterday (Sir George Clifford in the ohair) and dealt, with an appeal by the Gisborne Racing Club against the decision of the Hawke'a Bay District Committee on appeal by Mr. A. B. Williams, owner of Multiply, against the decision of a Committee of the Gisborne Racing Club distancing Multiply for tie Gisborne' Racine Club Handicap, run on February 6. The Eacing Conference Committee was of opinion, that the committee of the Gisborne'Racing Clnb which distanced Multiply was not properly constituted; and had no power to act as. the Judicial Committee for the race meeting at which such horse ran. The Club Committee had, therefore, no, power to disqualify Multiply under Rule 2, Part XXVI. Thi Committee was also of opinion that it ought not to refer the objection or dispute affecting Multiply-to a.Judioial Committee to be hereafter elected by the steward of th© Eacing Club. , Further, the conference thought that the stewards had now no power to elect a Judicial Committee for a , meeting . which has terminated. . . ' CHORTLE SCRATCHED, Chortle was scratched for th e Suburban Handicap at t0.25 ain. yesterday.
