THE FREE KINDERCARTENS.

Sir,—ln the appeal made in your issue of to-day on behalf of tho Free Kindergartens of Wellington (with which appeal, by tho way, we heartily sympathise), the following statement was made: —"Wellingon will have to face the loss of its Free Kindergartens." Wo do not think that the committee of Miss Richmond's schools, intentionally ignored tho work which the Wellington Methodist Educational Trustees arc doing with their three Free Kindergartens, located at Taranaki Street, Webb Street, and Are Street, which schools have 130 children on the roll, with a staff of eight teachers, at a cost of over £600 annually.—l am, etc., W. C. HBMERY, Honorary secretary, Wellington, Methodist Educational Trust.
