A NEW ROAD TO KHANDALLAH
The annual meeting pf the Khandallah Road Access Association was held last evening, the president, Mr. E. C. Alderson, being in the chair. The hon. treasurer submitted the balance-sheet, which disclosed a satisfactory position. It was intimated that there wero now seventy financial members, all of whom wero taking a keen interest in the objects of the association. The chairman explained in detail the various steps which had been taken by the committee in the interests of the association. Plans which had been prepared by_ Messrs. Seaton and Sladden were exhibited, These showed three * proposed Toutos for the new road, ono of wnich the committee strongly recommendod should be adopted. Those present examined the plans with keon interest, after which Mt\ Mftir proposed, and . Captain M'Arthur seconded, that the incoming committee be instructed to take whatever steps they deemed necessary to advance the project. This motion was carried unanimously. The election of officers was then proceeded with. The president announced that Mr. E. S. Kelly removed from Wellington, and had resigned from the committee, also that Messrs. Anderson, Hutchings, Hirschberg, and J. G. Smith did not offer themselves'for re-elcction. Mr. Alderson was re-elected president, and Mr. Holdsworth was elected hon. secretary and treasurer. The following wore elected as a committee: Messrs; J. T. Mair, T. Tivoso, G. Worsfold, Major Smith, and Captain M'Arthur. A cordial vote- of thanks was passed to the retiring committee.
