Protests against the high oost of living continue to be made by local authorities and other organisations, ,and tie protests are not infrequently accompanied by general accusations of exploitation. against certain classeG of. persons. ; This fact was brought under the notice of the Prim© Minister yesterday, and he stated that he had written to the chairman of the' Food Commission (Mr. juatioe Stringer) suggesting that that body should be called together and hear any evidence that might bo forthcoming, to support these charges of exploitation.
