WEAKENING RESISTANCE OF ENEMY
MORALE SHAKEN AT NEUVE
CHAPELLE
London, April 12. "Though a month has passed silica the Battle of Neuve Ohapelle, it is sig-. nificant that the enemy has not attempted to retaliate in any quarter.' It is also instructive to note the gradual weakening of the' German resistance during the past four months. This iB practically an admission that the Germans, with the troops at their* disposal. are unable to iavenge the defeat. "There is clear evidence that something like a panic prevailed at Lille during the fighting at Neuve Chapelle. The large hospitals were all removed 'to Tournai. The confidence of the German troops has been decreasing'-since Christmas. "The last Gorman war lew on Lille, Roubaix, and Turcoin-', for the months of March and April, amounted to £200,000." "THE BALL IS AT OUR FEET" "IF "WE ONLY HAVE THE MUNITIONS." (Reel April 13, 10.50 p m.) London, April 13. Lord Durham, speaking at a recruit* ing meeting, said that he taw General French recently, and he said: "Our men individually are Superior to the Germans, and that when the time comes we 'can break through, but w« want more ammunition. I've, want to pound the enemy, and go on pounding, 'regardless of expense, because wo will thus save the lives of gallant men." . Another General said: ' The ball is at our feet, and we can kick it if 're hav« the munitions."
