.from Our Special GorresnondenU At the annual meeting of tho Petone Rugby League, held on Friday, Mr. _\Y. S. Brico presided. . During the evening seven new active members and three honorary members, were elected. The following officers were elected dent, Mr. B. G. Waraes; vice-presi-dents, Messrs.. Wadley, Hall, Jenkins, Senior, Beale, Lepper, Anderson, Cook, Jones, and Oakley; club captain,' Mr. W. Reesby; secretary, Mr. J. Guthrie; treasurer, Mr. K. Barber; Management Committee, Messrs. Dunlop, Haddock, Langridge, Childs, Fraser, Tovey, and Beale; delegates to Wellington Rugby League, Messrs: Barber, Reesby, and Beale; selector, Mr. Reesby; junior coaches, Mr. ,-Langridge A team. Mr. Tovey B team, and Mr. J. Barber C team. At last Friday's parade of the Petone Branch of the National Reserve, Captain Watson and Mr.' TV. Beale (secretary) were appointed to meet other delegates of the D Company, consisting of two each from Upper Hutt, T'aita, and Lower' Hutt, for the purpose of conferring with regard to the election of officers for the company. Tlie meeting will be held next Tuesday at- the Lower Hutt Council Chambers. There were present at the monthly meeting of the Hutt River Board on Thursday evening, Messrs. 11. Baldwin (chairman), W. Knight, G. Bowers, and M. W. Welch. . An acknowledgment of tho board's grant of £10 to the British and Belgian Relief Fund was received from the local secretary (Mr. William Tryor). The overseer reported that the cut through the beach at Hooper's had been completed at a cost of £11 135., and the snagging of the river from Melling bridge to Mason's Gardens was now practically completed. The cutt did well during fho fresh, and it would not bo long before the river was running through it. All the culverts and outfall drains had been cleaned out, and were now in good order. On March 12 tho river had risen to a- height of six feet above the summer level. The report was adopted.
