MEETING OP COMMITTEE. Tho monthly meeting of the General Committee of the Masterton A. and P. Association was held in the association's rooms on Saturday, there being present: Messrs. 0. C. Cooper (president), A. J. Percv, H. Dagg, W. H. Buick, E. ,C. Allen, B. Rayner, J. T. Dagg, H. Evans, J. Morris, W. Perry, 11. Cray, W. J. Welch, J. C. M'Killop, D. Caselberg, and G. C. Williams. Mr. C. A. J. Lovett. the judge of' Her'ef ords at the last show, refunded his -.travelling expenses to the association, for which he was accorded a. vote of thanks'. The Hereford Breeders' Association .wrote complaining of the lax supervision over s'tock at the recent show, which had resulted in Hereford cows belonging to Mr. Ernest Short being tampered with. The association asked for a searching investigation.—A subcommittee was appointed to frame a reply. • The Finance Committee's report was read. This showed receipts for- the month amounting to £173 16s. 6d. and expenditure £826 7s. 7cl. The credit balance at date was reported to be £702 19s. Id. Accounts amounting to £14 17s. 6d. were passed for pay>ment. ' Tho 'Ground Committee's report was. also read. The committee recommended the acceptance of Mr. T. W. M'Keuzie's tender, at £61, for the grazing of the showgrounds. A grant ( of £5 was made to Mrs. Kilminster for.-work done at the showground. The committee decided to grant the use of certain tents to the Defence Department for the military encampment at Opaki. A enb-committee was set up to visit the showground. The recommendations of, the sub-corn. mittee appointed to revise the rules connected with tho ram fair were considered in detail. A recommendation that the entry ,fee for stud rams be increased from 10s. 6d. to £1, half the fee to, be refunded on rains selling at logns and over, was rejected,, the committee considering that this would be a retrograde step. It decided that breeders entering ten rams 'or under should have the option of selling- singly or in pens of-five, and that vendors offering over ten rams" should have the option of- selling 25 per cent, singly, instead of GO per 'cent, as formerly: After considerable discussion it was decided that'the Ram Fair Committee have the power to pass out a ram in the event of no legitimate bid being secured within ono mimito of its being offered. Other machinery , alterations were also made.
