PRINTERS' SOCIAL
Messrs. Wright and Carman tendered a social to their employees at Godber's Rooms on Saturday evening, on the occasion of' the .removal of their business premises to Vivian Street. Mr. W. Carman presided, and there was a good attendance. An interesting programme was contributed to by Mrs. A. E. Wright, the Misses Halliburton, Petherick, Young, P. and D. Wright, and Messrs. Hart, R. A. Wright, M.P., Halliburton, and A. E. Wright. The accompanists we-ro the Misses E. M'lmies, Halliburton, and P. Wright. Two features of the programmes were mi. original song, by Mr. R. A. Wright, entitled "City Councillors," and another by Mr. A. E. Wright, entitled /'The Runaway Wife," in which each of the staff was adroitly mentioned, and both items caused much amusement. During the evening Mr. R. A. Wright presented Mr. W. Wilson, on behalf of the staff, with a handsome clock and razorstrop, on the occasion of his recent marriage. Progressive euchre and other pastimes were indulged in, and after supper an enjoyable evening was brought to a close by the singing of "Auid Lang Syne."
