BELGIAN RELIEF

The Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke) desires to acknowledge with thanks the receipt of a cheque for £150 from Mr. Joseph Lewis, secretary of the Wellington Patriotic Society, being the proceeds of tho society's demonstration in Wellington last Saturday week. In the accompanying letter, Mr.' Lewis intimated that there were still some moneys .outstanding 011 account of tickets sold, and tlie balance would he forwarded as soon as those matters were cleared up. Tho Mayor plso wishes to acknowledge the receipt of a cheque for £10 19s. 7d.. tlie sum realised by the sale of a bale .of crutchings (wool) offered at the wool sale on April 7 by Mr. J.
