SPEND AN INTERESTING DAY. The members of the Japanese Trade Commission, Drs. Miura, Ohtani, and Mr. Ni6hida,_ 6pent a very interesting time in Wellington yesterday. In the morning they were occupied with Mr. J. A. Tripe, representing the Japanese Consul, slr. T. Young, for. a couple of hours, going over correspondence, etc., and then they were taken right through tho premises of' Messrs. Levin and Co., Ltd. The visitors were greatly impressed with the size of the firm, and were particularly interested in the import side of the business, the like of which they 6aid they did not see in Australia. The sheep-shearing machines also took their eye, as these were entirely new to them. In the afternoon they went to Petoue, and wore taken all over the Gear Company's meat worts. These they said later were an eye-opener to them, and they greatly appreciated the opportunity they had of seeing the extent of the meat industry, and the method of handling at first hand. In the evening they were the guests of Mr. Tripe. Mr. Young returns to Wellington to-day, and.will take the Japanese visitors on a motor trip round tie surrounding country.'
