(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Inveroarglll, April 8. In the filial tie of the Australasian Draughts Championship. Calderwood (Auckland) won from Boreham (Dunedin). Having got a draw and a win on the previous evening, Calderwood only required a draw to win outright, and he pursued a safe line, leaving the onus of- risk to his opponent. Calderwood won tlio Now-Zealand Championship last year. The 'handicap results are:—R. Muir (Dunedin), handicap 4, scores 22], total 26'J, 1; T. ilea (Dunedin), scr., 22-5, 2; R. At a meeting of T.evin residents it was decided to set up a committee to arrange for military sports during the visit of tho troops who are to be encamped on the Woreroa racecourse next week. It was also decided that tho committee should make some public recognition of Hie men who. arc leaving for the front. The Century Hall has been engaged for concerts in the evening. Mr. li.
