(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Dunedin, April 8. The following sale was reported on the Stwk Exchange to-day:— ' Whitcombo and Tombs, £6. MURRAY CREEK. The mine manager of the Murray Creek Company reporte for last month as follows:—The Intermediate Level, 104 ft. below No. 2 Level, has been driven a total distance north from the winze of 63ft. Owing to the big underlie it is necessary to drive in . the footwull for the convenience of future stoping, and it is therefore difficultto arrive at the average width of the reef. Quartz Is only being taken out in the roof to _a few feet down tile side of the drive, which accounts for the small tonnage of development ore sent to the battery. The reef in the roof of the face is 4ft. tin. in width, and is making a lot of water. The drive south has been driven a total ditfance of 69ft. from the winze. . At 42ft. the southern end of the lode was reached Driving has been continued to cut a second «mall block that was met with in tho level overhead, and this is'apparently'to hand i as Btone of a width of 18in. In the roof and 3ft. in the bottom of the drive Is showing. It has not the appearance of lasting, being dry, but is similar in this respect to the reef driven upon above, though assays show the values to be better. No. 3 Level. -Tho crosscut has' been extended to 148 ft.. which still leaves 312 ft. to drive to reach the approximate line of reef. The following are the assay results taken from samples in Intermediate Level:—At 25ft.. value £ 28s. per ton: at 30ft., width of stone sft., value £1 12s. 6d.; at 35ft., 4ft 6in„ £7 125.; at 40ft., 4ft-., £3 125.: at 45ft' sft. 6in., £5: at 50ft., 2ft. 3in„ £2 16s.- at, 55ft., 4ft.; £4; at 601t.. Ift. 61n.. £6 as.: at 65ft.. art., £4 16s. ; at 69Ft„ lft. 6in„ £3 120 During the month 125 tons of developnient stone have been crushcd for a return of 930». 17dwt. of melted gold, of an estimated value of £380. Tho denning up of the cyanide return is not yet completed.
