In the year 1863 the late Archdeacon Samuel Williams founded the wellknown Te Aute herd of Shorthorn cattle. On April 11, 15, and 16 Messrs. Williams and Kettle, Ltd., Napier, hold a dispersal pale of this well-known herd of cattle and Hock of English Leicester.
