MOKOIA FROM SYDNEY. At 4.55 p.m. yesterday the Union Company's Mokoia arrived at Wellington from Sydney direct. The vessel left the New South Wales port at 5 p.m. last Saturday and experienced fine weather on tho run across the 'l'asman Sea-. Before leaving for Bydney and Hobart this evening the Moltoia will land tho following cargo at Welington:—627 cases pines. 339 oases sardines, 60S cases tea, 620 half-cases fruit,, 100 rolls felt, 1055 ingots metal, 106 cases fruit, 120 bags sulphate ammonia, 670 sacks rice, VI sacks eolt'eo beans, 42 sacks seed, 118 cases drugs, 384 cases and orates sewing machines, 362 pieces timber., 357 oases soap, 761 sacks salt, 140 sacks, hides, 172 rolls paper.
STEAMERS ARRIVE AT LONDON. Advice has been received by the head office of-the Shaw. Savill, and Albion Company Elating that, the Athenic, which left Wellington on February 17. the Waimana, which left Wellington on February 21, and the Delphic, which left Auckland on February 12, have arrived 6nfely at London.
BOEDERDALE DUE SATURDAY. Hound from St. John to Wellington the New Zealand Shipping Co.'s chartered steamer Bordcrdalc is expected to leava Auckland lor this, port at noon to-day. Sho should show up here on Saturday afternoon.
NEW YORK TO WELLINGTON. Messrs. Dalgcty and Co. have been edvised by the U.S. and A. Line that, after several months of waiting, a steamer has been fixed to load at New Tork for Now Zealand ports. She is named tho Cairnstbta. and will commence loaning on".February 15. It is expected that the vessel will he dispatchd for Auckland and Wei Ungton about the end of the present month. S.S. RAKAIA SOLD. The well-known Now Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Kakaia has been eold to the Brodmead Steamship Company, and it is intended to change her name to Brodmead. The Kakaia loaded at Wellington towards the end of last.year on behalf ol the F and S. ,Line for West of England ports. Built in 1895 by Mostr. Hawthorn, Leslie, and Co., Ltd., at Newcastle, the Kakaia. has a registered gross tonnage of 5628 tons. Her principal dimensions are:—Length, 420 ft.; breadth, 54ft.; depth, 28.7 ft. MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. Mr. R. Head, chief officer of the Putiki, left that vessel yesterday, and Mr. C. Atkinson has filled the vacancy. Mr. J. Lowry has been engaged as chief officer of the Ripple. Captain P.. Fletcher, of the Sciuall, having come ashore, Captain E. Jackson Fowler, late chief officer of tho Hippie, has taken charge of the former vessel. Mr. A. Lough, fourth engineer of th« Wahtnp liflu como ashore All the other engineers have been promoted a step, and Mr. M'Gill ha 3 joined the vessel as seventh engineer. Captain G. Lambert, who recently retirel from the Union Company's service, was a passenger from Sydney by the Mokoia. Caiptain Crawford, late of the Marama, arrived in Wellington from Sydney by the Mokoia. Mr. J. W. Cameron has come across from Sydney to Wellington by the Mokoia to joiu the Kini as chief officer. It is reported that the steamer Monarco ifl to load at Newcastle this week for New Zealand in place of the Melbourne Steamship Company's Hobart.
In addition to other Union Company's steamers already mentioned, the Wyandotte is due at Auckland from San Francisco on A pril 20, with general cargo, included in which Is a quantity of Hour.
At daybreak to-day the Shmv, Savill liner Karamea was expected to leave Wellhicton for London, via Monte Video and Tenerilfe.

The largest vessel on the list is tho 54,000-ton Vateclond, with a crew of 923, which is tied un in New York. In. addition to the Vaterland there are 27 steamers belonging to t.he Hamburg-Amerika Line and 15 of the Norddeutscher-Lloyd fleet. To t vpry creel, extent the Belgian mercantile fleet has taken refuge in England, and the owners have transferred their olflces and business to London. The tramp steamer,? are all trading, but a fair numher of the vessels have been sold to English owners. Leaving Wellington for Dunedin to-day tho Comma will load up at the southern port for Oanmni, Timaru, and Wellington From this port she will proceed to New Plymouth.
Before proceeding on to southern ports on Friday, the Tarawera will land 252 tons of Auckland cargo at Wellington. According to advices received by the heaJ office of the Shaw. Savill, arid Albion Company, tho R.AI.S. Arawa arrived at Sydney from Liverpool, via way ports, on Sa.turday last. Beforo coming on to Now Zealand ports to load for Home, tho vessels will visit Newcastle and Brisbane. Ths coastal steamer Defender, whichleft Wellington for llokitika last evening, will load another cargo of timber at the West Coast port for Wellington. Tho South Taranaki Steamship Company's Kapuni will be placed on the Patent Slip to-day, and will be dispatchcd for Patea. to-morrow.
On account of the Kumara. not getting away from Timaru for the Bluff till yesterday at noon, she vril not arrive at Wellington till Sunday. Departure will bo taken for London on Tuesday next. As overhaul to tho Himitangi will not bo completed before the end of this week, the vessel will not leave here for. the Cfcathams, via Lyttelton, before Saturday at earliest.
From New Plymouth the Maoriland Steamship Company'* • steamer Lauderdal# will proceed on to.Nydla Bay to load timber for Sydney, prior to entering the interState trade for twelve months.
An exchange 6tates that tho lamcras and historical ship Britannia, in which every executive officer of'-.His Majesty's Navy, from the King downwards, started hi* naval oarecr, has been sold to the well-known breakers of battleships, Mossr6. Hughes, Bolckow, and Co., Ltd., of Blyth, Northumberland. Men have been on board removing the top hamper, deckhouses, and upper works, so as to prepare her for her last voyage lo tho North of England, but in consequence of the conditions existing from the state of war, the date of the vessel's departure is uncertain. Britannia at tho bow has been carefully removed, and landed at the naval wharf, Dartmouth, whonco it will b transferred to the grounds of the Royal Naval College, and oreoled therein ai fl. lasting memento of a ship which is held in such c-eteem and reverence by all oilicers .of the Navy.
