THE RHODES ESTATE

A good deal of interest is being taken in the forthcoming auction sale of properties in the estates of the Hon. W. B. Rhodes and Mrs. S. A. Rhodes. The sale is to take place at the Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, April 29 (not Wednesday as previously announced), and tho following agents have been instructed to conduct the auction sale:—Messrs. J. H. Bethune and Co., Harcourt and Co., W. H. Turnbull and Co., and Mr. S. George Nathan. As the reserves have been fixed at the lowest pijssible figures it is anticipated that the hulk of the properties offered will find purchasers.

A large number of valuable warehouses, manufacturing and business sites in the main thoroughfares will bo offered, as well as choice residential sites in Wadestown, Highland Park, and Goldie's Brae. Amongst the main thoroughfare properties are-several with frontages to Lambton Quay. In the triangle formed by Lambton Quay, Grey and Featherston Streets, there are three sections—one having a frontage of 43ft. to Lamliton Quay, another 22ft. to Grey Street, and the third 31ft. to Featherston Street. These join one another on the back boundaries, and offer a rare chance for central business premises and opportunities for the speculator. On Lambton Quay, next to the right-of-way known as Mason's Steps, and adjacent to Mr. Geo. Mee's premises, a section is offered, having three frontages of 42ft. llin. to Lambton Quay, 95ft. to Mason's Steps, and 58ft. to The Terrace. Sin. to Cuba Street, by varying depth, with land adjoining at_ the back containing 34 perches, also 127 ft. [Jin. to Cornhill Street. There is a good corner site opposite Te Aro Railway Station, 61ft. to Wakefield Street, and 100 ft. to Tory Street. The residence of tho late Mrs. Rhodes, known as "The Grange," with 4 acres 18 perches, beautifully Jaid out in gardens and shrubberies, is offered, together With 10 _ sections adjoining. Also several choice residential sites in the immediate neighbourhood fronting tho Wadestown ltoad, Wade and lloorhouse Streets. Shop properties are also offered at the corner of Webb Street and Broadway Terrace.and in Webb Street, sections in Tinakori Road, Adelaide Road, Wadestown, and Goldie's Brae. Complete catalogues, giving detailed plans and. all particulars, are being prepared. It is stated that exceptionally easy terms will be given. A- special advertisement appears in this issue.
