This steamer is at present on tlio subsidised service United Kingdom-Canada-Australia-New Zealand, towards which the Government of the Dominion of Canada pays a subsidy. Tho service between tho East Coast of Canada and New Zealand and Australia h the subsidised part of the ship's run, so that the consent of the Canadian Government was necessary before the stoamor could be held at ports to load meat. The arrangement arrived at will mean that precious time will be saved by relieving the congestion at ccrtain freezing works earlier, and by giving the ship more rapid dispatch to the United Kingdom.
