!AN ASSOCIATION FORMED. (By Meerapji.-Press .Association.! Christchurch, April 6. . At a meeting held on Saturday a New' Zealand Technical School Teachers' Association was formed/ with po\yer to register under the Education Act, and bo come under the Teachers' 'Court of Appeal. Fourteen delegates were present, all the technical day schools except Dunedin and Wellington being repre-' sented. The constitution - adopted provides that members must belong to a local association, and must be engaged 20 hours at least teaching, or supervising, or giving' instructions under manual and technical regulations. The executive, to consist of a president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, and four others. At least two must be women and not more than one_ director is to have a seat on tlio oxecutive. Tho annual, general meeting will take place in January each year. Each association is allowed one vote for every four members. The objects ; include the promotion of exchanges of teaching schemes, and the bringing together of teachers of the same subjects at different technical schools. Officers elected were:—President, Mr. I. E. Newton, M.A. (Cliristcliurchi; vice-president,. Mr. A. D. Trendall, A.8.1.C.C. (Auckland); secretary, Mr. G. J. Park, B.Corn. (Christchurch) ; executive, Misses Wilson, M.A. (Invercargill), Little (Dunedin), slessrs. R. Thompson (Auckland), W. A. Armour, M.A., M.Sc. (Wanganui); auditor, Mr. N. Goldsbury, A.1.A., N.Z. (Christchurch). It was decided to endeavour to arrange a conference of secondary school teachers in connection vfith the forthcoming election of the council of education.
