FURTHER RESULTS." . . (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Ghrlstohurch, April 5. The band- contest was resumed today. The E flat bass solo was decided. The B flat bass solo was also down for decision, but owing lo two out of three competitors 'having ontered in error (their intention being io enter for BB flat ba6s) there was no competition. The result of the E flat bass solo was T. Cavanagh (Hiberian's, Invercargill), 94 points, 1; T. H. Hughes (Nelson Regimental), 93 points, 2; M. Codyre OYestport Regimental, 89 points, 3. There were twenty-one entrants ( but only fourteen competed. The judge, in giving his award, remarkod that the class was a very, good one. In the nftorn/ion, at a civic reception and garden party in tho Botanical Gardens, the Mayor welcomed tho visting bands, and Dr. Thacker, president of the South Island Association, also spoke. i
