PILLAGE AND ATROCITIES

Salonika, 'April 5. Five hundred irregulars who assailed Serbia used machine-cuus aJid retreated through Valondovo.-wLicli they burned. They failed to destroy the bridges across tlie Vardar. They burned several villages and massacred aged peoplo and children, and either mutilated or incinerated several Serbian soldiers.
Finally the Serbians, concentrating their forces, routed the invaders, who compelled many of the villagers with goods and cattle to enter Bulgaria.
GREEK VIEW 7 OP THE RAIDS. (Uec. April 6, 1.5 a.m.) Athens, April 6. The raids are interpreted as an effort to induce Serbia to give Bulgaria some definite declaration. A bomb was thrown at the Greek La* gation at Sofia, but did not explode.
