Weddings at Napier. ' Our' Napier correspondent writes that six weddings took place at Napier and Hastings yesterday. Miss Agnes Hart, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Hart, of Hastings, was married to Mr. John Heaney, of Waihi, son of Mr. and Sirs. J. Heaney, of Mahora. Miss Jean M'Lean, daughter of Mr. ;und Mrs. John M'Lean, was married to Mr. Clarence Masters, son of Mrs. Masters, of Havelock, and Miss C. D. Chapman, of Hastings, was married to Mr. H. W. Dudfield at Napier. An exceptionally pretty wedding was celebrated at St. Augustine's Church, when Miss Rita Howard, second daughter of Mr. S. Howard, of Matapiro, was married by the Rev. A. P. Clarke to Mr. Harold Bartlett, eldest son of Mr. J. Bartlett, of Napier Miss Winnie Howard, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid, and Mr. Stanley Bartlett, brother of the bridegroom, best man. At St. Patrick's Church, Napier, Miss Agnes Goldfinch, daughter of Mr. William Goldfinch, of Napier, was married to Mr. Thomas Cottrell, of Clive. Tho bride, who was given away by her father, was attended by her sister, Miss Ella Goldfinch. Mr. Frederick Goldfinch was best man, and the Rev. Father O'Sullivan performed the ceremony. At Petane yesterday morning Miss Margaret Arnott, daughter of Mr. H. Arnott. of Tongoio, was married by the Rev. Father 0 Connor to Mr. Ernest Richard Tacou, son of Mr. R. C. Tacon, of Petane. The marriage took place at the residence of Mr. W. P. Arnott, brother of the bride. Carnival at Day's Bay. Day's Bay was the centre of attraction to large numbers of people yesterday, many of whom spent tiie day in watching the tennis tournament, and by way of variation, visited the carnival which had been organised for the benefit of the Belgian Fund by a number of ladies resident in the different bays on the opposite side of tho harbour, and which was also attended by many who were anxious to assist the cause. Marquees and stalls had been erected in the grounds close to Ibe pavilion, and goods of all descriptions, including produce, flowers, sweets, tobacco, fancy goods, etc., were sold with satisfactory results. The Christinas tree and the bran pies held many lures for tho ohildren, several of whom took part in a fancy dress procession which was held in tlie morning. Tables and seats for afternoon tea been arranged in the grounds of Mrs. \V. R. Hursthouse's residence. . In 'the evening a concert was held in the Day's Bay pavilion, and a particularly good programme was. given, which included some charming fancy dances by the Misses Marjorie, Alice and Dorothy Saunders, a quaintly effective coster dance by Miss March, as. well as the Dance of the Imps, recitations by Miss Alico Saunders and Master Zohrab, songs by the Misses Saun-ders,-and other items by the Rev. Mr. Sola, and Mr. R. Leo. After tho concert a dance was held and a late boat conveyed the many visitors back to town. Clothing for British and Belgian Relief Fund. . Parcels of olothing for the British and Belgian Relief Fund have been received by Mrs. Rolleston, 47 Molesworth Street, from the following:—Misses Bell, Druinmond, Greenwood; Mesdames H. D. Bell, J. Kinvig, Murray, Tweed, M'Gowan, and Messrs. Cowles and E. . Lawford. Mrs, Harold Carr, of Gisborne. is a •visitor to Wellington. The annual "social" of the Wellington Canary and Cage Bird Club was held in Alexandra Hall, Abel Smith Street, last night. There was a good and patrons of the gathering spont a very enjoyable time. Tho floor was in excellent condition, and (lancing was continued until after midnight. Supper was provided. During the evening the trophies iuid prizos won at the November Show were presented to the successful competitors.

The golden wedding of Mr. and Mrs. D; T. Stewart was celebrated on Sunday and several of their oldest friends were entertained at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. C, Stewart. Many cablegrams, telegrams, and some beautiful presents were received, in addition to congratulations from friends in Wellington and elsewhere.

Miss Rosina Buckmann' (New Zealand), who iu spite of the war is still scoring successes, received an excellent reception when she sang at tho Mansion House, London, recently, at the concert given by the Lady Mayoress in aid of the Belgian Fund, states a London correspondent. Miss Buckmann was later presented to Princess Clementine and Princess Napoleon.

Nurse Biltoii, of Sumner, arrived from Christchurch last week, and is spending some days with her brother, Mr. H. Bilton, before leaving for Englaiid.

The Lower Hutt Gymnastic and Social Club held its first ball at the Lower Hutt Lyceum last evening. The building was crowded, and an enjoyable time was spent. The committee responsible for tho success of the gathering consisted of Messrs. Parkor, De Rosa, Nunn, and Coljnson. The two firstnamed acted as M.C.'s. The music was supplied by Mis 6 Harris The society although only a few weeks in existence now comprises 65 members, and it is anticipated that with tie commencement of the ladies' and lads' sections the number will be raised to 100. Every branch of athletic sport i 3 taught, under the tuition of Mr. G. Parker, instructor, It was intimated last evening that an athletic display would shortly be held in the Town Hall, in aid of the Belgian Fund.
