A strong Bulgarian baud attacked the railway on the Strumnitza. Sixty Servians were killed and many wounded. A. Servian regiment sent to reinforce the frontier guards threw hack the raiders into Bulgarian territory. Eigh fcy Bulgarian dead were left on the field. It is not known at present whether the Bulgarian authorities sanctioned the invasion. The news caused a sensation in Eotno. (Rec. April 4, 5.5 p.m.) London, April 3. The Servian Legislation states that Bulgarian regulars in great numbers in military uniforms and under officers yesterday attacked a blockhouse at Valandovo and occupied alltlie heights on the left of the Vardar. The fighting continues. There are a Considerable number of dead and wounded. Two Servian guns wero taken. The scene of this disturbance is the former Macedonian province of European Turkey now partitioned between Bulgaria; Turkey,- and Greece. The town of Strumitza is a few miles within Bulgarian territory, and the' valley of the Struma is divided between Bulgaria and Servia, to which belongs the upper portion. Valandovo is about nine miles south of Strumitza, and is apparently just across the Servian side of the new frontier, which here follows the watershed between the Struma and Varda Rivers. During the Balkan Wars Bulgaria brought nearly 300,000 troops into the field in the first line, and the older reserves and militia were also employed under arms. Servia,'e war strength now encaged in the struggle with Austria is computed at 270,000, without including the Third Ban.
