POLICE OASES. . Mr. W. CI. Riddell, S.M., dealt ■with tlie police cases at the Magistrate's Court on Thursday. ' A young man named Robert M'Lachlan was remanded to appear at Petone on Wednesday next on a charge of stealing a watch and chaiu, valued at £5 10s., from Edward Harrup. On the application of Mr. 0. C. Mazengarb bail was allowed in £10. Charles Harvey was fined 10s., in default 48 hours' imprisonment, for drunkenness, and £3 with witnesses's expenses, Bs., for ; -using obscene language,' jn default 14 days'" gaol. James M'Michael was declared a. habitual drunkard and was sent to gaol for a month. On a further charge of using obscene language he was fined £2, in default 14 days' imprisonment. Clara Wiley was remanded to April 3 for sentence on a charge of being idle and disorderly'with insufficient means of support. ■ Frederick Lambert was convicted on a charge of., being. helplessly drunk, and was ordered to pay medical expenses, 12s. 6d. For drunkenness, Thos. Forsyth waß fined 205., iii default three days', imprisonment, and George Broughton was fined 10s., in default 48 hours' imprisonment. Sis first offenders were dealt with. . Ethel Hendry was fined 405., in default 14 days' imprisonment, for importuning. DEFAULT DEBTORS' LIST. Judgment, was given for plaintiff by default in the following undefended civil cases by Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M.: — Gamble and Son v. F. Wills, £7 155.; coSts £1 Ss. 6d.; Laery and Co., Ltd., v. J. Hudson, £16 15s. lid., costs 15s. j P. Aharadson v. Annio Jepson, wife of John Jepson, £12 13s. 4d., costs £1 10s. 6d.
