R'.M.S. lONIC FROM LONDON. An arrival' .from London, via Cape Town and IlobfU'fc on Thursday morning, was the Shaw-SaviU R.M.S. lonic. Fine weather was experienced practically throughout- the trip, with the exception of some fairly bad weather after the liner had left Cape Town. The lonic cleared London on February 12. She berthed at the Queen' 6 Wharf No. 1 south at 10.20 a.m. on Thursday. Captain Starck, R.N.R., is still in command, his officers being as follow Messrs. H. T. Rowland (chief), J. WIMMERA ARRIVES FROM HOBART. At 7.40 p.m. yesterday the HuddartParker steamer Wimmera arrived in the stream from Melbourne and Hobart. The vessel will berth at the Queen's "WTiarf. No. 1 north, at 7 a.m. to-day. ond will sail for southern porta, Hobart, and Melbourne at 5 p.m. MAILS FOE VANCOUVER. Bound from Vancouver to Sydney the Union Cqmpany's R.M.S. Makura is due at Auckland from Suva to-morrow. Departure will bo taken from - the northern port for Sydney at 8 a.m. on Monday. The Union Company's chartered steamer Hexham has been fixed to load another cargo of coal at Newcastle for Lyttelton. MORE INTERCOLONIAL aHANBES. A further alteration has bean effected in the itinerary of the Union Company's Mokoia. The vessel will not leave. Sydney for Wellington till to-day, and will not go south, but will return to Sydney on Thursday. Anrll 8. leaving tho latter port on April 13 for Hobart. On April 23 oho will leavo Sydney for Wellington and Lyttelton. On completion of discharge at the southern port the Mokoia will go on to Dunedin, where she will bo withdrawn from the intercolonial service. In conseouence of this alteration the Mooraki will not resume running till Tuesday, April 27. NEW SIGNALS AT NAPIER. Cantata White-Par6ons, harbourmaster at Napier, has inaugurated. a, complete new set of Bignals for that port, which, it is said, will greatlv facilitate the berthing of steamers. After having been laid up in Wellington Harbour for a considerable time the little ®Ji ca roer Energy is about to leave for Ulcyiheim. Provided the weather is favourable the Watrau will tow her Acroes tho Strait to-day. The New Zealand Shipping Company's Jtotorua will fill up here and sail for London on Thursday, April 8. The same company's chartered, steamer Wirral, which is en route from Wellington to London, left Teneriffe oil March 31.

Leaving Dunedin on Wednesday next tho union, steamer Kowhai will make calls at Oamaru, Timaru, and Lyttelton en route to Wellington. She is due here on April 10, and will be dispatched for New Plymouth and West Coast ports on Monday, April 12.

After having discharged part of her cargo of Newcastle _ coal here the Kauri will go on to Napier next week end to finish.

The C. and D. liner Hawke's Bay, which is at present landing London cargo at the .King s Wharf, will be dispatched for gapier on Tuesday. The same company's Star of India will leave the Taranaki (Street Wharf for Lyttelton. to-morrow mossing.

Tho Huddart-Parker steamer Victoria, which arrived from northern ports yesterday, will leave here for Dunedin direct at 5 p.m. to-day. After having discharged a ooneignment or timber at Miramax, the Defender will come up to the port proper and sail from Wellington- for Hokitika on.
