EXPORT OF OATS
An application has como to' tho Now Zealand Government from the Government of the Commonwealth that a quantity of oats contracted for by the Commonwealth Defence Department may bo allowed to bo exported from New Zealand. The Prime Minister stated yesterday that tho Government intended to grant this request, which applied to a quantity of some 8000 sacks. The Commonwealth authorities made a similar request in respect of supplies ot oaten sheaf chaff required for defence purposes. This request also the Government hoped to bo able to grant.
