AUSTRIAN RAIDERS ANNIHILATED (Rcc. April 3 0.25 a.m.) Petrograd April 2. Official.—We have gained an important success in tlio Krasna region, west of Simno. Tlio enemy is rapidly retreating, and we arc vigorously/pressing the pursuit. Wo have secured very substantial r<v suits in the Carpathians, where the troops are wading in snow up to the loins, and climbing almost perpendicular precipices, and. .hacking through en-, tanglcments in the forests. We dislodged tlio Austrians from their trenches in tlio Utowiska region,, and captured a series of fortified heights in the prinoipal chain. _ . In the Bc-skid Mountains we surrounded and partially exterminated several battalions. Toward Cliotin, northeast of Czenowitz, wo captured 1500 survivors. - Altogether we took 5650 prisoners and captured 14 machine guns in the Carpathians.
