SHIPMENTS AND PRICES. "Owing to continued dry weather in many of our dairying districts," states a note in the annual report of the Wellington Chamber of Commerce, "the production of both butter and cheese shows a small reduction, as compared with last season. From September 1, 1914, to March 15, and for the same period last season, the exports to all countries were approximately as follows :— Butter. 1913-1914 18,033 tons. 1914-1915 17,360 tons. ." ' Pecreaso, 3.73 per cent. -- . .. Cheese. 1913-1914 27,602 tons. 1914-1915 27,304 tons. . Decrease 1.1 per cent. On account of the war prices for all classes of : butter have ruled exceptionally highl and the average f.o.b. value for thei.lseason will ,show an increase on la!s:||;ar of from ljd. to 2d. per. lb. Europeanji supplies' have shown a tie-' crease,:,-i^nsequently, Australasian have met witn, keen demand at high prices right the' present, and prospects of a rauciiiuance aro very favourable. "Shipments to Vancouver total 1018 tons, -ai '.compared with 2773 tons last «f 1755 tons, or about 65 pen;ceiit. Our high prices have made' Business more difficult, and turned the demand • on to Eastern Canadian and Caljfornian. Up to the correspondiiigllperiod' last year we had shipped 850:;;; tons to Pacific Coast States, but owing to the plentiful supplies of local make and our high prices, business :Kas'''been practically ..impossible this year!;!'
