ENVELOPING MOVE FOILED BY THE RUSSIANS (Rec. March 31,.1.23 a.m.) petrograd, March 30. Official. —"The Germans attached enormous importance to the Niomen offensive. Their 31st Division, with three reserve regiments, and much cavalry, was ordered to push on to Lod-zie-at all costs. ; 1 ' "The Germans made prodigious efforts ' and attempted to envelope the Russian right north of Lodzio by crossing the frozen Lako Dusia. "A largo number penetrated to the Russian reaij but were entirely annihilated."
