SWIMMING

PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES. Last Monday afternoon tho Rev. Dean I Regnault and Mr. Shields paid a visit to the Murist Brothers' School, Thorn- I don, for the purpose of presenting tho boys with tho Duthie Cup and a set of silver medals, all of which had been [ competed for 011 February 10 in the To Aro baths. The Rev. Dean Regnault complimented the boys on tho enthusiastic spirit that pervaded them and made them keep up the good name of the school in sports as well as in study. On presenting the cup Mr. Shielcls warmly congratulated the boys for their i success in a competition in which so many teams of different schools entered ; lie encouraged them to continue to take a great interest in such a clean and healthy sport as swimming, promising to give them all the assistance in his power. Tho head teacher thanked the visitors, and three hearty cheers were 1 given by the boys.
