She will berth at the Queen's Wharf, No. 1 south, at 7 a.m. to-day. Departure will be taken for Lyttelton at 5 p.m., and the vessel will return to Wellington in timet to sail for Sydney direct at 5 p.m. on Thursday next —ono day early. •ITARAJIA FOR SAN FRANCISCO. Bound from Sydney to Pan Francisco, via way ports, the Union Comnany's R.M.S. Mamma, left the Now South Wales port for Wellington at 1 p.m. on Saturday. She Is due here to-morrow morning, and will sail for Rarotonga-. Papeete, and San Francisco at 5 p.m. on Thursday. The Marama is due at her destination on April 21. lONIC DUE THURSDAY. Having left Hobart at 6 a.m. on Sunday (in continuation of her Journey from London to Wellington) the Shaw-Savill R.M.S. lonic is cxnected to make port at about .10 a.m. on Thursday of this week. Her future movements have not been announced a 6 yet.
TURAKINA LEAVES CAPE TOWN. A Press Association message has been received from Christc'nurch 6tating that the New Zealand Shipping Company has been advised that B.M.S. Turakina, bound from London to Wellington, left Cape Town in continuation of her journey on March 27.
MAKARINI'S PAST RUN HOME. Messrs. Bannatyne and Co., local agents Tor the C. and D. Line, have been advised that the 6teamer Makarini arrived at London from Wellington on Friday last. after an exceptionally fast passago of 38 days. MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. .Mr. H Budge, chief engineer of the Paloona, having como ashore at Wellington, Mr. A. Levistan has joined that vessel as chief. Mr. W. Graham, engineer of the Blenheim, has left that vessel at Wellington.
Mr. A. M'Donaid, third engineer of tho I'aloona, has come ashore. Mr. E. A. Andrews has joined tho vessel as fourth engineer.
Captain Holmes, of the Eastern Extension Telegraph Company's steamer Iris, and Captain Reed, retired master mariner, of Auckland, have been appointed nautical assessors at the Magisterial Inquiry to be held at Auckland into the recent collision hetween the coastal steamers Taniwha. and Waimarie at Ponui Passage, near Auckland.
Captain C. R. Browne and Captain W. E. Boswick. of the Auckland Harbour Board's staff, who have been relieving on special duty for the past seven months, have resumed their former duties as night officers.
After having been thoroughly overhauled and surveyed at Port Chalmers, the Moeraki is about to re-enter the intercolonial Bcrvlce. On Thursday next the Mokoia will leave Sydney for Wellington, being due here on the following Monday—one day early. Departure will be taken for Lyttelton on April 6, and on arrival there she will be replaced by tho Moeraki.
With ICOO tone of New York cargo on board the C. and D. liner Star of India is due at. Wellington about Thursday next; Subsequently the vessel will proceed on to Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Sydney.
The Northern Company's Rarawa will leave New Plymouth for Onehunga on Thursday evening of this week instead of -Friday.
Advice has been received that the New Zealand Shipping Company's Kaikoura, bound from Wellington to London, left Monte Video on Thursday la6t.
Between midnight and 9.45 a.m. yesterday 1500 tons of coal were put into the Ngakuta at Greymouth. The vessel sailed from the West Coast port for Wellington yesterday morning.
The Arahura arrived at Greymouth from Wellington, via way ports, at a.m. yesterday. She wa6 to have left on tho return trip at 7.30 p.m.
Instead of leaving Wellington for Picton and Nelson at 12.45 p.m. on Easter Monday, as previously announced, tho Pateena's departure has been postponed till 7 p.m. on that day.
It Is announced that the "Union Company's Monowai, which is due from Lyttelton this morning, will sail for Tiyt.telt.on again at 7 p.m. to-day. She will be followed by the Maori at 7.45 p.m.
Provided she getfl rid of her coal cargo in time the Whangape will leavo Wellington. for Newcastle to-morrow. An expected arrival in port from Newcastle to-morrow will be tue Kauri.
I'or the purpose of continuing Homeward loading the Shaw-Savill liner Karamca arrived at Gicbornc from Aucklmd Inst evening. Her next ports of cell will be Napier and then Wellington. The vessel is due here on Good Friday, and will be dispatched for London on Tuesday, April 6.
The Anchor Mile's steamer Nikau will leave Wellington for Nelson and Motueka on Thursday of this week as usual. She will remain at Nelson till 8 p.m. or Easter Monday, however, when she will take her departure for Wellington. The same company's Kaitoa will arrive here on Good Friday morning, and will take tho Nikau'e run from this port to Nelson at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
On account of the Easter holidays tlio Union Company's Tarawera has been dispatched from Duncdin for Lyttelton a, day early. She will arrive here to-morrow morning, and will leave at 5 p.m. for northern ports.
It is anticipated that the 0. and D. liner Star of Anatralia, will get away from Wellington for London early next month.
Both the Pateena and Mapourika will be engaged in the Wellingt-on-Picton-Nelson service for the Easter holidays. The latter vessel left Wellington yesterday afternoon for Picton and Nelson. She will return this evening, and will sail again tomorrow at 12.45 p.m. The Pateena. will leave Wellington for Picton and Nelson at 12.45 p.m. to-day.
According to advices received by the local office of the Union Comran.v their steamer Waitemata is expected to leave San Francisco on April 1 for Auckland, Wellington. and Sydney.
Mr. Joseph Hatch has decided to recommis.=ion the. schooner Rachael Cohen, which has been laid up at Carey's Bay slip. Dunedin, since December. A start has already been made to put- new timbers in her.hull which will be sheathed with Tasmanian hardwood.
From Melbourne the Star of Scotland will proceed on to Sydney, Auckland, Napier, and Wellington. She will land London cargo here ahout April 20.

Biddine opened at £500. and roee to £700, at which price the vessel was sold to Mr. 0. £;ccol. phippin? contractor, of Auckland. The vessel, which is well known in Auckland, has a length of 94ft.. a, beam of 25ft. n draught, of Bft,. 6in„ and a tonnage of 75 tons. She is fitted with two 30 h.p. oil engines, together with a- 9 h.p. winch.
