A WATER SCHEME
« POLL TO BE TAKEN FOR EASTBOURNE. At a special meeting of the Eastbourne Borough Council last evening it was decided to submit to the ratepayers proposals to raise a loan for watersupply purposes. The amount ,of the proposed loan is £12,500. A poll is to be taken on April 28, the day of the municipal elections.
The scheme is to bring the water from the Gollan's Valley stream by a tunnel through the hills at Muritai. It is considered that the service would supply Eastbourne with unlimited water for some time to come. ■
