The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile 'Agency Company, Limited, report:—At the Dannevirke salet held on Friday, in the Miller's Road sale yards, there was a large entry of sheep, although not quite so good as usual, and a medium one of cattle, offering to a good attendance of the public. The market for elieep was, considerably firmer than of late, # bidding—especially for lambs and ewes—being exceptionally keen. Cattle, however, were somewhat hard to dispose of. We quote:—M.S. woolly lambs, 12s. 5d.; shorn wether lambs, lis. Bd.; four and five-year ewes, 125.; two-tooth Romney rams, 355.; empty cows, £3; steers, £2 Its. to £1 13s. fid.; heifers, 375.
