EASTER HOLIDAYS

THE POSTAL ARRANGEMENTS. The Postal authorities advise that on Good Friday, April 2, the Postal Department will be ' closed in all its branches. Mails for dispatch by steamers will close at 8 o'clock on the previous evening, and the only dispatches of correspondence by trains will close on Good Friday as follow:—For the Wairarapa, Hawko's Bay, Manawatu, Rangitikei, Wanganiii, and Taranaki districts at 5.45 a.m.; for Auckland and Auckland: district at 8 a.m. The city and-suburban receivers will not be. cleared during the day, ..but. the midnight clearances will be made as usual. There will: not he any deliveries by lattercarriers on Good Friday, but on thursday, April 1, the carriers' department (upstairs - from -Featherston Street) will be open for the delivery of correspondence addressed to streets in the city and suburbs from 8 to 9 p.m.; also the public counter for the delivery of cor■refpondence addressed to the Post Office will be open from 8 to 9 p.m. •The parcels delivery counter will be open from 8 to 9 p.m.

On Easter Monday, .April 5, the Chief-Post Office will be open in all its branches (except Money-order and Savings Bank) from 9 to 10 a.m. Mails for dispatch by. steamers will closo at 8 a.m., and the only dispatches of correspondence by trains will close as follows: For the Wairarapa, Hawke's Bay, Manawatu, Rangitikei, Wanganui, and Taranaki districts at 5.45 a.m.; for 'Auckland and Auckland district at 8 a.m. There will be no delivery of correspondence by letter-carriers in .tho ■city or suburbs in the afternoon, for which correspondence must bo postod at the Chief Post Office by "1.40 p.m. On Easter Monday the city and suburban, receivers will not bo cleared during the day, but the night clearances will be made as usual.
