Since last reporting very heavy*. sup- •' plies, qf. inferior apples and pears have « arrived, on the local market, the presence of which, together with the cold and unsettled, weather, has had a very ; detnumental effect on the local market, prices generally having fallen con6ideri ably. By th? Maitai yesterday a fair shipment of bananas, Island: oranges, American oranges, and lemons came to hand in good order, and met a very i keen demand. The wet weather has : interfered with the potato supplies also, and choice samples have temporarily advanced locally. ■ Onions are unchanged, (while fresh eggs are firmer.
