M'Donald will go south with the Porirua team on Tuesday, but will return to ride on tho opening day at the Wairarapa Meeting. He will ride Goldstream in the Easter Handicap. Several horsemen, including L. Wilson, F. Flynn, and J. O'Comiell will bo riding at Auckland on Saturday, and Monday, and will then come south for tho second day of the Feilding meeting. So far no jockey has been engaged to rido Aster in the Easter Handicap at Auokland, and if a suitable rider is not available he will not be started, but will be .reserved for one of the minor events. The same remark applies to the Waikatoowned Munster. With so many meetings clashing at Easter owners are findingeomo difficulty In securing horsemen. Trainer F. Davis, who lias Beldame and Tete-a-Tete engaged in the Auckland Easter, has not yet been able to secure a rider for oitber of the pair. On last night's express T. QuinliTan took the following team to Auckland;— Bou Reke, Downham, Red Book, and Ventura; L. Wilson will be on Downham, and R. Manson on Red Book in the Easter Handicap; J. O'Connell has now recovered from the brokon collarbone he sustained when Composed fell with him at Dannevirke. He is to have the mount on Spallation at Auckland. F. Flynn will be an Doggerbank and Cannonade in their engagements at the Ohinemuri Meeting to-day. He then proceeds on to Ellerslie to ride Admiral Soult in the Brighton Hurdles neifc Saturday. W. Price received a good offer to ride Astor in the Easter Handicap at Ellerslie, but as the Wanganui horseman was unable to. go to the scale under 7st. 111b. he was compelled to refuse. The second day of the Ohinomuri meeting, which was postponed last week on account of the heavy rain, will take place to-day. It is stated that B. Deeley will have the mount oh Bonny Rigg iu the Great Easter Handicap .at Riccarton. The imported mare has only got 7st. 41b., but it will be neocssary to put up three pounds overweight for Deeley to ride Per. .' F. D. Jone?, who recently resigned his position as private trainer to Mr. W. E. Bidwill,- will take up duties in a similar capacity to Mr. H. A. Knight, of Raoecourse Hill. D. Roberts, who has had charge of this gentleman's horses in training for a number of years, has not been in the best of health for 6ome time, and will in all likelihood take a holiday extending over a lengthy period. Jones will not be bound down entirely to Mr. Knight's team and he will also take in hand an. English two-year-old fillv for Mr. W. B. Starky. Word is to hand from Dunedin that the well-known trainer, H. Goodman, has almost recovered from the illness that laid him aside after the Gore Meeting. Goodman contemplates taking Ogier to Riccarton for the C.J.C. Meeting.Several well-known racehorses owned by Mr. G. L. Stead, including Sauci, will be submitted to auction on the second day , of the C.J.C. Antumn Meeting. The owner of Doon to secure the services of C. Price for the Glenapp mare at Tauherinikau, but as that-horseman will be riding the Fordell horses at Foilding, he. had to decline the mount. Kilrain is a .doubtful starter at Riccarton, but will probably contest the big handicap eaoh day at the Wairarapa Meeting. The Porirua team, consisting of Belasco, Gold Soult, and Naupata, will be sent south by Tuesday's bo'at. J. H. Prosser will go in charge, and Jockeys 1 M. M'Donald and H. M'Sweeney will do the riding.
