ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
KILLED BY A LIFT (By Teleuraph.—Press Assocl&ttoa-i Auokland, March 26. Margery Evelyn Dewes, aged 24, a daughter of the late Mr. A. JS. Dewes, whose mother resides at Parnell, waß killed instantly this morning. She was ascending a, lift in Hobsoli Buildings, the lift being in charge of Edward Kenner, aged 17. On reaching the second floor. Miss Dowes was getting out and had one foot on the lift and the other foot oil the landing, when tho lift suddenly dropped and she was pinned with her back against the floor, bomc minutes elapsed before she was released, and 6he was then quite dead. A CYCLIST KILLED. Dunedin, March 26. John Morrison, aged 45 years, was accidentally killed at Palmerston this morning. Ho was riding a bicycle alongside a moving traction engine, which was drawing a threshing mill. The hicycle skidded, and he was thrown under the wheels of the mill, receiving fatal injuries.
