SUMMARY AND FORECAST Present indications are for strong but decreasing south-easterly winds, with cold and changeable weather, showors in the East Coast districts of the North Island. Conditions arc likely to Improve temporarily, end tho winds change to northerly in and southwards of Cook Strait after from' 24 to 36 hours. Tho lmrometer is likely to ri6o in the north, but fall In the eouth by to-mor-row evening. Cold, unsettled, and showery weather Ims continued in most parts of the North Island and in the north-east portion of the , South. Elsewhere conditions have heen changeable. Strong south-easterly winds have prevailed northwards of Farewell Spit and Kaikoura, and variable breezes southwards.
