ACCOUNTANT STUDENTS' SOCIETY
The Wellington Accountant Students' Society 'Held a successful meeting last night, when Mr. J. S. Barton, F.1.A.N.Z., delivered a lecture before a latge attendance of members. Tho subject of Mr. Barton's lecture was one of primary importance to students of account, and he dealt with the intricate subject of amalgamation and reconstruction of companies in a clear and comprehensive manner. He outlined tho entries entailed in these accounts, and citcd the leading English and New Zealand authorities to' substantiate the principles, he laid down. Tho lecturer made these complicated acoounts appear simple in the extreme. A hearty vote.or thanks was accorded to the lecturer on the motion of Mr. P, E. Pattrick, F.1.A.N.Z., secondedby Mr. E. C. Day. A resolution was also passed, on the motion of Mr. Barclay, thanking the past president, Mr. \\. B. Hudson, for the portrait he had presented to the society.
