At the auction sale yesterday afternoon of the remaining unsold sections of the Palfrey Estate, Upper Hutt, in Messrs. Harcourt and Co.'s rooms, there was a fairly large attendance of buyers, and the bidding was spirited, but the reserves on the various sections were not reached with the exception of two, viz., Section It, which WHS sold for .£75, and Section as .£BO. The nine sections which complete tho public school site are under offer to the Education Dparlment. An offer was also made for Ihe back 661ncre block of the estate, at the Government valuation, which is now under the consideration ■of the vendor. The sections adjoining which are part of the Bentinck Estate were passed in a( -£2.5, the reserves being .£35 a section. These sections each comprise over a qu-artor of an .^cre.
